So where do these recorded file kept at?

Post by shin777 »

I have 2 IP2M-841B wi-fi amcrest cams. I set it up at my store and I bought cloud plan for 2 cams. It works good for motion detecting and I can get recording off easy from cloud. The problem is, it only records for few secs to few mins and then goes off, ending up bunch of little clips instead of one solid one. So, I used pc-dvr and set recording storage for 200gb. It suppose to record 24/7 that way and wipe/rewrite when it becomes full. I set recording directory right too. I left it on all night last night and came back this morning. When I looked at my live screen on my pc, recording red light was off so I thought it stopped recording at some point but when I searched playback, I could find all my recording. What I don't get is, where do these record file stored at? They sure weren't eating up any space on my hard drive and It transfers to my hard drive only when I manually export them to hdd. Are they stored on cloud or something? When I logged in on my cloud, I can only view motion detect videos, not full recording but when I access it from my pc-dvr, I can export full recording to my hdd.

Someone explain this to me please. :)

Hello shin777 ,

The PC NVR stores the files in a virtual directory under the 200 GB allocation but there is no way to access the files except using the play back or download option. That is how the software has been made.
