So, no matter what method I use (desktop IP config, website, Android View Pro app) the settings I set always seem to reset after a day or so. What is strange, it's not all settings, just random ones.
For example, I have the image fliped 180 and mirrored, since I have the camera mounted upside down. Every day or so it randomly sets itself back to the default config. Not too big of a deal, but now the motion detection areas I set up are upside down and backwards, and worthless.
Another, I have the night vision set to off, since I have this inside and the glare in the window from the IR lights makes it useless. Not a big deal, since the area outside is well lit. However, every day or so this resets back to the default of being on.
Another, I have the time stamp overlay set. This disappears every day or so as well. However, the camera name overlay seems to always stay and not reset to default.
What in the world is going on here? I am a pretty tech guy. I have tried all the options several times now.
This camera is great, but the software really needs a lot of work.
P.S., if you are looking for a data scientist/project manager to help you resolve these issues, I am looking for a new position and have a experience in these areas. Additionally, I feel this company has enough potential to be something great! After some major re-works on the data and software side, of course.
Settings won't save
Re: Settings won't save
Hello agtaylor78,
Some of the issues like the resolution and flip/mirror settings not staying is related to Cloud settings. That is, if you have added your camera to Amcrest Cloud service. And the time stamp overlay settings issue is also something we are working on to fix soon. Apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
For the recruiting part, I would not be the right person to comment on. You could try contacting our HR department.
