Hi, I recently purchased an Amcrest 720p WIFI camera and I have been able to get it to send me an email whenever it detects motion, with an image attachment. I am really impressed with the features of the camera, especially considering the low cost! I want to buy the 1080p version, once I figure out how to record video too.
I would like to set up the camera to record a video segment locally on my PC whenever the camera detects motion. I have Amcrest Surveillance Pro and the PC-NVR installed on my PC, and I have the following questions:
1) How can I have the PC-NVR save video when the camera Motion Detect is triggered? I found a Device CFG -> Record -> Rec Plan tab and a PC-NVR -> Record Operation tab in Surveillance Pro, but I'm not sure what the difference is between these two schedules. I'm using version 1.11.1.
2) Does my PC have to be awake for the PC-NVR to record video? When it sleeps I'm pretty sure the processor is sleeping, so I'm not sure if that would be possible.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Recording Video on Motion Detect
Hello RedLagger,
The PC NVR record plan is for recording to the computer and the other one is the schedule for SD card I believe. Yes, the computer has to be up without going to sleep mode for the recording to work.
