Recording time and missed motion detection

Post by ailind »

I'm new to this forum and to the amcrest cameras. Maybe these topics are related. My camera(s) are IP2M-841. I notice the the camaera stops recording before all the motion completes and then doesn't record again for around 10 more minutes so stuff gets missed. I've played with settings like sensitivity, threshold and dither but admit I do not fully grasp how these parameters work. Also there are other parms I don't understand. Basically, I have my camera on the second floor looking down at my backyard and detached garage and want to FULLY capture all significant (human) motion in its entirety. I haven't been able to figure out how. Help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hello ailind ,

Please set the anti dither value to 30 seconds or less. This is how long the camera stays triggered once motion is detected but its not the recording duration. You can also set up pre record and record delay timing which will extend the video to few more seconds before and after the event. These settings are under setup > Event > Video detect and set up > Storage > Record

Thank you! I'll try those parms. Any suggestions on the sensitivity and threshold settings? I have them set to 71 and 10 right now
