NVR - 4108 Motion detection..

Post by Strl »

I have a NV4108 with 8 cameras..

The NVR is setup for e-mail alerts on detected motion. This works well as I occasionally get an alert while at work and can check and watch the actual bird fly into the window. Everything is good.

My issue is that I have been at home sick for the past couple of days and cannot find an, "easy" or, "common sense" way to quickly turn off motion detection. It usually entails trying to log in locally, which takes forever because the unit is recording everything and sending out hundreds of emails every couple of minutes.

Once I get into the interface from a laptop, I have to go to alerts, and wait.. wait... wait, because the unit is overloaded. Once I get a blip of "interface" from the system, I turn off motion detection for one channel and then wait.... wait..... until focus comes back. Then copy this change to the rest of the channels.. And wait.... wait.....

This takes about ten minutes. The problem is that a couple of my e-mail accounts were "halted" because the unit had sent 1100 email alerts on 8 channels in a 20 minute period.

Please tell me that there is a simple "I'm friggin home" switch and not to hammer the storage and shut down my e-mail accounts.

The other issue is that after turning off motion detection and recording manually, it automatically reset the settings 6 hours later and it happened again. Had to go back in and do it all again and deal with calls from my employer regarding flooding their email servers.

Please tell me I'm missing something obvious. This should be easy. But again, I'm sick as hell and don't need this.

Common sense tells me that this should easily be done via the phone app, but I can't find anything that works there either..

Hello Strl ,

Have you tried enabling/disabling motion detection from the Amcrest View Pro app?

On the app tap on the menu and go to Configuration center. There you can find an option to enable/disable motion detection.
