Mark, it seems like you're suggesting Amcrest can log into our cameras and update the firmware. If so, that's unsettling. Melvin, I would think that's not possible. Can you offer some insight please?

Hello markplewis ,
The cameras constantly connect to Amcrest Cloud servers to check for upgrades. But the camera will ask if the update an be preformed and not done automatically. I have no information on any stealth update.

All I can say is that my camera magically started working properly with motion detect sometime around Oct 3. and it has continued to work properly ever since. To my knowledge there has been no official recent firmware update. After I did the last official update and until at or around Oct 3 my camera would not properly record with motion detect - the camera would record full time. How else could anyone explain that my camera magically "fixed" itself ??

That's super frustrating. The only guess I could make (as an end user like yourself), is that possibly after the firmware update was installed the camera didn't reboot, so the settings didn't initialize correctly with the new firmware. Maybe you lost power or something to cause the camera to reboot? I have my camera scheduled to reboot every day as that seems to help it re-connect to my wifi without my intervention.Mark wrote:Sorry for the delay in reply...markplewis wrote:Mark, it seems like you're suggesting Amcrest can log into our cameras and update the firmware.
