I just submitted the below request on the Amcrest site. Am I the only one seeing these issues with the latest firmware that came out the end of last month or has anyone else run into this as well? The inability to change the device name is particularly annoying for someone who has multiple cameras named strategically. Does anyone know if it is possible to go back (temporarily) to the old firmware. When it became available the camera automatically downloaded it. Also, before anyone asks, yes I did do a "hard reset" as described in the release notes:
1. A hard reset or "Restore to default settings" is required to delete the old system file and enable the new features.
I did it as the release notes described:
2. Changed reset buttons for easier use.
- "Reset all settings to default" is a soft reset, clearing most of the settings
- "Factory Reset" is a hard reset, clearing all settings including the username and password.
I would appreciate it if someone could just confirm that these are known problems so I can stop beating my head against the wall thinking I have done something wrong.
Thanks to anyone who takes time to respond!

Hi,
My amcrest model IP3M-954E will not longer allow me to change the device name under the "General" setting. No matter how I try the default name of "AMC0076M_L99P2W" cannot be changed. I simply get the message "save failed" This used to work prior the upgrade to latest firmware:

The FTP function also behaves strangely. The anonymity login does not seem to work but creating a new login with a password does allow FTP. The FTP test function (which is new in this firmware) however always returns "server connection failure" even though it appears to be storing files to the FTP server. Are these known issues with the new firmware? If so will they be fixed and is it possible to go back to the older firmware till then?
Thank you for any assistance.

Responding to my own post....
I heard from Amcrest support this morning. Nice to have such a quick response. Looks like I am not going crazy. If anyone is having trouble with the new firmware, Amcrest is aware of the issues.

Good Morning,
Thank you for contacting Amcrest Support, my name is XXXXXX and I'm the Product Support Specialist here and I will do my best to assist you with any questions or issues you may be having.
I will get in contact with our R&D team regarding the name change issue. We were aware of the FTP Test fail message and we are currently working on it. Anonymous login does no longer work with FTP in our cameras. However, the FTP file transfeer does work fine despite this error.
I will keep you updated as soon as possible. Until then, I will leave this ticket on hold

On my IP3m-943B the new firmware not only has problem with the FTP Test fail, but the FTP file transfer also does not work. Network Monitor on my PC, with firewall disabled, shows no connection attempt on FTP Port 21 for either FTP test or motion detection event.
