IPM-723 continually trying to phone home

my IPM-723 continually tries to do DNS lookups of the following hostnames:

• amcrestview.com
• config.amcrestcloud.com
• p2p.amcrestview.com

It sends approximately 60,000 such DNS lookups per day. Ridiculous.

I have ZERO interest in my camera connecting outside my LAN under any circumstances. Everything I can think of is disabled, including p2p, but the camera is still trying to phone home.

How can I stop this (other than a hack like setting its DNS to 127.0.0.1 so it queries itself into the pavement) ?

Hello vds,

There is no option to disable these connection attempts. The cameras needs to connect to these addresses to be able to use services like Amcrest view and Cloud.

You can block the camera external access from router which would be a good option to block these attempts.
