IP3M-956W https issue

Post by pmurthy »

I am trying to access my IP3M-956W via https.

1) Since I have multiple cameras, I set up port forwarding with some port xxxx forwarded to 443 on the local ip on which this camera is

This doesn't work. I am able to log in, but get the "Resources are limited, unable to play" message. Main stream or substream.

2) Then I noticed just by accident that if I change the http port on this camera from 80 to some yyyy and then port forward yyyy to yyyy locally, then I get the video stream back. Leaving the http port at 80 and forwarding yyyy to 80 doesn't work, although it should work for pure http access.

All of this suggests that this camera doesn't use https exclusively? Does it fall back on an http connection for whatever reason? Can someone explain why it works when the http port settings are changed and forwarded in the manner described above, even for an https connection?

Hello pmurthy,

It appears that there is an issue with getting the stream to work overt https remotely. This is something out R&D team is looking into currently.
