IP2M-841EB - various issues with the firmware

this product is so close to be fantastic, but its just let down in so many ways

i am reviewing IP2M-841EB firmware 2.420.AC00.12.R, build : 2016-04-13 which is apparently the latest build for the PoE model, testing from Windows 10 Pro

-mail setup on this is flakey, it cannot work with the most simplest of settings, port 25, no authentication, no ssl etc, the most possible basic setup, fails. (fyi exact same settings work perfectly in HP scan to email, Unifi Controller, UPS software) but not on this camera.
in the end i got it working with the much more complex gmail setup as a workaround. crazy

-doesn't work in Chrome, you have a extension on the chrome webstore for this, that doeskin work, just remove it, pointless if it doesn't work. i can see old posts and mentions you were working on this, obviously didn't happen, was many months ago

-via web interface - the playback feature is utterly broken, nothing will playback (i.e recordings) via firefox and IE (with the plugin installed), click play, nothing happens. (live playback is fine on both channels)

-via web interface - the file list - download option. completely broken, writes a 0 byte file to the local disk.

the only way i can get recordings from this device is to either remove the SD card or use the time selection cut tool
and click save, thats the only thing that is working

- the online chat support, is this worst ive seen, they will greet you, you ask the question, they take many many minutes to respond, not helpful at all, just a waste of time frankly.

i really wanted this product to be good, but alas i dont think i will buy anymore until at least the web interface playback and download issues are solved

* Yes the mail set up will not work on port 25 without authentication. It does work with all popular email providers like Gmail and Yahoo.

* We are working on fixing issue with Chrome currently.

* The playback should work in web interface usually. Please try running the browser as administrator to see if that helps. If you have a special character in password , try adding another user without a spacial character in password and see if it plays back. Another way to get the playback to work is using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software. The link is below.

its a bit silly having to route mail through a free US provider tho.. the most basic of SMTP settings doesnt work, would be nice if you got it sorted. alot of people use exchange/hosted exchange etc as well, all that is needed for those is SMTP port 25 no SSL no Authentication since you can just sent direct to the mx server directly

yes, my password had a few special characters like @ and hash in it, i tried what you said and changed the password to something simple, a BAM instantly everything in playback that was broken, is now working again... very surprised this is the case, hope you will fix this or atleast stop people from entering a password containing it, afterall everything else worked fine with the complex password..

i really like this camera, but not so happy i wasted many hours trying to get SMTP working and playback working when they were both known issues..

I am having the issue with relaying mail through my internal exchange server. Every combination of port, encryption and user name syntax has been tried to get the test messages through. Any update on this? I am using a Amcrest Surveillance Pro Version 1.14.1 2016-10-18 with a NV2104e.
