IP2M-841B PTZ tour issue

I have setup PTZ presets and tours. However, I notice a lot of variation in the triggering upon motion detect; because of the seeming randomness in the amount of time it takes to go to the first preset, I notice that the camera is often out of phase as the tour is stopped when the motion detection record period ends. How can we guarantee that the camera returns to its last preset in the tour? I cannot see any way to do this. Increasing the recording time won't help as the non-determinacy of the gap between preset transition means that the tour may overshoot its last preset. Can't the firmware be designed so that the motion-detect trigger for the PTZ guarantees a completion of 1 and only 1 complete tour? I am using the latest version 8 firmware that was pushed out on Sep 8 2016.
