I am having trouble viewing my cameras on iOS View Pro. I get a failed to connect error. The app appears to default to the Extra video stream. I do not have that stream activated. I can use the Android tablet app on two different tablets, one Samsung and on Acer, and they allow me to specify Main video stream in the setup. Both tablets show all four cameras. I cannot find a way to specify which steam to use on the iOS camera using iOS 10. I can set both video streams up in the Configuration Center under Video Stream but I can't designate stream to use. If I enable the Extra stream it works. I don't want the Extra stream active. I am running four wifi 1080P cameras.
I am connecting to my NV4108 NVR. The problem exists both within my home network using P2P and ip/domain. I am using 3 1080P(IP2M-842) and one IP3M-956.
iOS View Pro will only use Extra video stream not Main

Hello Bari ,
When you get that login fail message on the bottom of the app you can see an icon that says 'HD' . Click on that and you can select HD or SD as the mode.

Re: iOS View Pro will only use Extra video stream not Main
Melvin,
Actually that doesn't work. I have the same problem: I'm using the latest version of Amcrest View on my iPhone, and it defaults to the substream. If I don't have substream enabled on the cam, it fails to connect but does not provide the option to switch to HD (main stream). I click on the HD button and it shows a "Resolution" popup, but no option below to switch the stream.
On the other hand, if you have both streams enabled on the cam, you can switch back and forth between HD and SD but only once it has successfully connected to the substream.
Attached is a screenshot showing what I am talking about. This is a pretty significant defect in the software.

Yes, that is exactly what it does. It appears this may be a problem related to iOS 10. When I was first installing cameras I could use this app to aim the cameras. When I added more cameras I could not get the app to connect to the camera. I had to use the Android app instead. My phone updated to iOS 10 in between. Pressing HD does nothing more than bring up a message that says "Resolution".

Melvin,
Your solution does not work. Do you know if anyone is working on a way to get the iPhone app to work without using the substream? Having main and extra streams may not be a problem with wired cameras but there's enough competition on the wifi without wasting bandwidth with a stream I do not need.

Re: iOS View Pro will only use Extra video stream not Main
Hello Bari,
The phone app is designed to use sub stream by default. I am not sure if I got your point but no data would be used unless you use the app to stream with sub stream enabled or disabled. . Watching it on mainstream will take 3 times more data than sub stream.

I'm not concerned about how much data I am using on my phone's network as I am paying for unlimited data. I am concerned about how much data is being used on my in home wifi system by running both main stream and sub stream. I only want the main stream. The Android app gives me the option to select main. The iOS version does not.
I have posted another message about an iPhone app from ICRealtime that gives me that option. The app looks the same as Amcrest's which makes me think they make Amcrest View Pro and perhaps an update will be coming to Amcrest View Pro that will also provide that option.
Thanks for responding.
