How does "Snapshot" feature work?

I've messed with the settings multiple times to hopefully get a change setup with MD To take a snapshot of screen but so far, any testing done had only yielded the MD recording only a video clip of affected channel. Is it even supposed to take a photo snap?

It can send email with snapshot or upload snapshots to FTP upon motion detection. You can set them up under Event > Video detection and under Network > Email settings.

Yes. You need to schedule the snapshots under Storage > Schedule > Snapshot plan for this to work.

Under Settings > Storage > Record > Snapshot > enable all the channels and click apply and OK.
