How are we supposed to administer the cameras?

Post by crookedview »

None of the modern browsers work with the web plugin. How do we configure the camera (motion detection zones, etc.)?

Not my experience.

I have 2 x IP2m-841B. My computer is switched on early a.m. to last thing at night. I Firefox for web browsing but have a shortcut to I.E. in my startup folder. The home page is set to my driveway camera. I have to enter my password and then I open a new tab and as soon as I enter the number 1 in the URL address it offers me choices with the IP of my second at the top of the list. I click on it and have to enter my password again. Both up and running in about 5 seconds. The web active plugin works perfectly for me and I much prefer the interface to Surveillance Pro which admittedly works as well - I just prefer the web interface.

Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge? I tied Edge, Chrome, and Firefox - none of the new versions support the web plugin.

I have had good success using Chrome with the plugin called IE-Tab. Also using amcrest's own browser like app, and a browser called Pale Moon.

Okay, so we have to resort to using outdated browsers and/or hacky plugins. Got it.

No you don't have to. I found an option that works for me. AMCREST SURVEILLANCE PRO also works perfectly well, I just happen to prefer the interface I get in the web browser.

Thanks for the heads up - I tried Amcrest Surveillance Pro and it'll do the job.

I have tried for days to use my browsers to access the Web UI to NO avail. Finally found a recomendation to use Pale Moon - and Finally I was able to go go to setup and access the menus.

Another helpful issue for me, was using "Logout" prior to trying to get to setup. Seems with out logging out I was only defaulting to a 'Version'"' menu and could not go further.

Great to finally be able to use the Web UI again.

I have also tried pale moon and indeed a good one to have and adore using Palemoon and love it's ability to continue using extensions.
However, having said that, I have a problem with it not showing ~any~ content on *some* pages.
