I just hooked up my brand new camera. Model number doesn't matter, because the camera is not the issue. The issue is the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software. I thought I would use one of my computers as an NVR rather than buy a dedicated NVR.
The software is the most unintuitive software every. It's all over the place. I had to call for help and some guy took over my computer to set it up. He had to download additional files that were not mentioned. I finally got a nice image and was excited to get started. No such luck. My hard drive doesn't show up. I did everything mentioned, like trying to add my computers as a device, which I was able to do, but I still don't see my HD. Things record when they want to. No, it's not the motion sensing or the schedule, and if it is, then it's another HIDDEN option that I didn't find. I read the manual and there are several things that don't jive with the software. I'm suspicious that this is done this way to discourage using a PC and HAVE to buy an NVR. I'm really peed off at this. I'm no tech wizard, but I'm no idiot either. I don't know what I'm going to do at this point. When speaking with with tech support, good luck understanding what they say. Obviously not Americans, so I don't relish the thought of calling support again.
