Last night I posted on what my first impressions of my new camera were. After messing around for HOURS, I figured that it was the motion detection that was not working. So I turned it off and recorded MANUALLY and it seemed to work.
The main reason that got me to buy the camera in the first place, is to find out who is letter their dog shit on my lawn overnight. When I got up this morning, there was a nice big pile of fresh shit, right in front of where the camera is located.
I ran in all excited and played back the footage.
For whatever reason, the recording stopped all by itself. It had recorded several hours and then quit...right before the dog took the shit! So this has turned out to be a huge waste of money. I wish I would have read the complaints on this forum BEFORE I bought the camera. I wasn't even aware of the forum and like someone else mentioned, I went by the glowing reviews the Amcrest products get on Amazon and on their website. I purchased the camera DIRECTLY from Amcrest. It's NOT the camera, it's the POS software that you MUST use if you use your PC as an NVR. Talk about a rip off! It might as well be totally useless. You get a lovely live view, but the recording sucks. What good is it then? Very pissed.
