Hello,
I'm having issues setting up a 3TB external hard drive to work with newly purchased 'Amcrest 960H Video Security System'. Instruction Manual is pretty much useless, so I'm trying to figure things out as I go.
When HDD is hooked up via USB, it is not recognized at all. I tried formatting it to NTFS and exFat. None of that made any difference.
HDD is only recognized when connected via eSATA cable, but I wasn't able to find a way to backup or export data as it seems that the only way to do a backup of recorded data is to a device connected via USB port. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.
So what I'm trying to achieve is to be able to either directly record footage to an external hard drive or be able to export/backup recorded footage from internal HDD to an external one. Any suggestions on how to go about it?
Thanks everyone in advance.

Re: External Hard Drive
did you ever figure out how to connect an external hard drive?
Re: External Hard Drive
This isn't intended to be the answer, but in my experience Fat32 has been the predominant HD format for external drives on the D/NVR systems I've dealt with. It's always best to test with that whenever having a problem reading a drive.
Re: External Hard Drive
Did you ever figure this out? I bought a 5TB USB drive and it wouldn't work. Called customer support and the person I spoke with said his manager told him that 1-2TB is the maximum size you can use. That doesn't make sense. I formatted my USB drive as exFAT, and the 960H unit only recognized 196 MB of space.
