I'm new to this forum and to the IP2M-841 product line. I ran across a behavior that did not occur from my past experience with Axis and Foscam IP cameras. I set up through the web interface a motion detection schedule from Monday - Friday. Works great, so far no complaints. However, I do have situations where I may need to disable motion detection because of known activity at my house (spouse comes home early for example). Don't really want all of those snapshots being sent for these kind of known events.
My past experience with other cameras just involves switching the motion detection enable/disable toggle switch to change the behavior of the camera. Enabling motion detection simply returns the camera to a security operation based on the schedule.
However, I have noticed with Amcrest that disabling motion detection also deletes/resets my entire event schedule. I have to essentially rebuild the event schedule every time I disable/enable motion detection. Am I missing something with the Event->Video Detection->Enable option? Is there a better way to temporarily disable motion detection without losing the entire schedule?
Thanks for any advice or suggestions you can provide. Rebuilding the event schedule every time I enable/disable motion detection is not a good option.
Event Schedule Lost/Reset When Turning Off Motion Detection
Re: Event Schedule Lost/Reset When Turning Off Motion Detection
Hello grabczb ,
When you re enable the motion detection through the app, you can also check the schedule settings by going to the 'Advanced Configuration'. Here you can set up the motion schedule and sensitivity etc and save it. Please try that and see if it helps.

Hello grabczb,
When you turn on the motion detection from the phone app after disabling it, go to the 'Advanced Configuration' under the Motion detect settings and make sure the schedule is set there properly and see if it helps.
Is the issue when turning of motion from the phone app from the camera web interface on a computer?

Re: Event Schedule Lost/Reset When Turning Off Motion Detection
Actually, I don't have a problem at all setting up a schedule or even toggling (enabling/disabling) motion sensing through the app. The problem I'm seeing on both cameras is that an ESTABLISHED event schedule turns BLANK (erases) after I disable and reenable motion sensing!
I have to keep rebuilding the event schedule through the app every time I toggle (enable/disable) motion sensing. I'm not trying to modify the event schedule at all. The schedule just DISAPPEARS when I toggle motion sensing in the app. Somehow, I don't think my original question below was clear enough.
I also do NOT have a cloud account or subscribe to cloud services. I have seen in some other posts that cloud accounts can cause configure problems.

Hello grabczb ,
Could you please give me the Phone model and the OS version. It seems that the issue is only with specific phones.

Re: Event Schedule Lost/Reset When Turning Off Motion Detection
Hi Marvin,
Thanks for the follow up. I'm using an iPhone 6, iOS version 10.1.1. The app I'm using is yours called Amcrest View Pro version 4.40.0062.
I seem to lose the Event schedule COMPLETELY on my cameras when using configuration center->Motion Detection->Device-Enable toggle. However, I did notice today that the event schedule disappeared again when changing the sensitivity level in the app. Also noting, I use the save (disk icon) symbol after making any changes. It really is bizarre why the event schedule just decides to erase all Sunday-Saturday schedules. It's kind of frustrating to keep rebuilding the schedule quite often.

Re: Event Schedule Lost/Reset When Turning Off Motion Detection
Melvin,
Just adding another update. A colleague I work with has 2 of the same IP2M-841 cameras at his residence. He mentioned yesterday that one of his cameras just stopped sending emails for motion detection events. A quick look into his camera revealed that his event schedule was also completely "blank" (deleted). Kind of makes sensee, no schedule, no emails being sent.
He uses the Android app and I use the iphone app. May be more of a camera firmware issue rather than an app issue. It really is discouraging to have to keep checking the cameras to see if the event schedule still exists or needs to be rebuilt. From a customer's point of view, this is very bad programming.
Thanks for anything you can resolve with this issue. Also, neither of us have Amcrest cloud accounts.

Hi grabczb,
Can you confirm if the latest app update on the iOS store fixed this issue? Please let us know and we can investigate further if needed.

Re: Event Schedule Lost/Reset When Turning Off Motion Detection
Racheel,
Thank you for the followup. I switched to another IOS app to see if this resolved the motion detection schedule random loss issue. FYI, the alternate app did not have any schedule disappearing issues.
I did try using the updated Amcrest app this morning. I tried toggling motion detection "ON/OFF" w/save on multiple occasions for 3 of my Amcrest cameras. So far, I haven't seen the motion detection schedule disappear and require a rebuild! I will keep you posted but it looks like you may have found the problem?
Thanks!
