I've had my Amcrest HD 720P 4CH Video Security System for less than a week and the DVR box has already died. When I came home from work it was off and wouldn't come back on. I already have an exchange set up for a new one to try out but this does raise some concern about reliability and long term use.
Has anyone else had such quick failure of their DVR?

Not to bring up something old, but I don't check here to often.
Yeah, I had this same issue with the QCAM systems. We lost power after a thunderstorm, had everything plugged into a surge protector and whatnot. Power came back on fine, but not my NVR. Weird thing is, we lost power about 2am. From 2am-9am, I had no recordings. When I booted up my system to check it out, everything came up for about 5 minutes, then just went dark, and said signal lost on all cameras.
I checked everything, all my cameras and NVR were still getting power, just no signal was getting through. Sent it back and got a new one, all works now. Guess I better hope another storm doesn't come through.
