Display problem

Post by cea »

I have a 4 channel POE NVR that I used at my house before replacing it with an 8 channel. I moved the 4 channel NVr to my grandmothers house where it is being used with x2 amcrest POE PTZ cameras (exactly like it was when it was at my house).

The NVR has a display plugged into the VGA port so she can see the cameras, as she doesn't have a computer or other way of viewing them.

The problem is that it will stay in the 4 channel view for a few hours/days and then switch to a seemingly random single channel in full screen display. Sometimes it's even went full screen in channel 3 or 4 which are not configured.

I've tried calling amcrest (sat on hold for >30 minutes) and emailing them (never received a response). Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why it's doing this? I've turned off all the motion and other alarm events as both channels are recording 24/7. What doesn't make sense is that it never did this when I had it at my house. It only started after I moved it to her house.

Hello cea,

It does not switch to full screen mode on any channel unless you click the mouse on the display. Please try restoring the settings to factory default under settings > System > Default and see if this helps.

There isn't a mouse plugged into the NVR, so there is no way someone is changing the display. The NVR and cameras have already been restored to factory defaults, twice. Still happens.

And yes, it does switch to full-screen mode without a mouse. I've seen it happen around 10 times now.
