Creating Video Clips

Post by Skip Lazar »

Within the NVR Web Access, I have trouble with selecting and making a Video Clip. There is no reference to this activity in the pdf manual.
In reviewing my previously recorded videos to identify the time an incident occurred, I am only able to begin at an hour increment and then fast forward a few times to identify the time period of interest.
There seems to be an unknown minimum time for the clip. I have been able to select a long time period (6 hours) and the clip function would begin. Problem also is where the clip is being saved to; there appears to be no command to direct it to a destination visible to my PC.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello Skip Lazar,

There is an option to cut and download a portion of the recordings. For this you need to login to the NVR's web interface from a browser. You can go to the play back option on the cameras web UI and search the files, then click on the 'scissor' symbol and then cut the video to the length you need. The files will be saved under C drive under the folder 'RecordDownload'

You need to click on the scissor then click on the starting part of the video and then click on the ending part and then click on the scissor again.

Tried saving a clip from 10/19/2016, 23:00:00 to 23:59:59. I get a message from webpage - Download failed! Checked and directory exists on C:\.

Hello Skip Lazar,

Can you try using a different browser? If that does not work, please try the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software. The same option is available in the software as well.

I've been using IE ver. 11. Unsure if the web app will work with Firefox.

When I open Amcrest Surveillance Pro (ver. 1.11.1 Build 2015-07-21), I set for the same date (10/19/2016) and 22:00:00 to 23:59:59, select my three cameras, Search and get a message "Channel L and so on have no records." I am able to view the camera recordings for this time period with NVR Web Access so something is there.

FYI I'm running Windows 10.

I've run my Amcrest Surveillance Pro through Windows Compatibility Mode Troubleshooter all the way back to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) but it cannot call up any older recorded videos from memory. In each case, the message after Search reads "Channel L and so on have no records".
I have been able to view these videos via the NVR Web Access in Internet Explorer. When I look at all three cameras, the view pops from on to another. Live feed shows all three together.

Figured out how to do it through NVR Web Access. Under Playback mode, select the date on the right-hand side of the screen and then, using File List, select the hour and the Download. The file is created in the C:\RecordDownload directory.
