I have two ip2m-841 and 2 older foscam units. I prefer the tinycam app on android over the amcrest app. I had some issues getting the new ip2m-841 cameras but eventually got them set up. The first day they worked fine in tinycam monitor pro but they did not work the following day ( ping test fails) . They are still visible using amcrest app and over the web but the ping test seems to fail in tinycam.
The cameras are pretty much in their default configuration (http port 80, rstp port 554) . I have only changed the video resolution down to 720p. any idea how to get them working in tinycam again? I have tried it on 3 android phones and 2 tablets.
edit:
also noted I cannot access the camera's web config page (ie http://192.168.0.180) from the phone or tablet? I am running the network on an asus RT-N12 rotuer running tomato firmware. phone/tablet/cameras are running on the same wifi network
cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
Did you give the cameras a static IP# ? check your gateway for connected devices and IP#'s.

Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
cameras have static IP addresses assigned at the router. I can access them fine from desktop computers on the same network.
Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
IP addresses and ports have to be unique. Port forwarding for each needs to be set up if you plan to use the app away from your network. Sounds like an IP or port conflict. There isn't much to go wrong.
Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
I am trying to view these camera from within same wifi network they are connected to. (not remote access from outside my office)
so my phone at 192.168.0.150 cannot see the camera at 192.168.0.182 on the same network. Amcrest viewer works when adding the camera via serial number scan. Tinycam and amcrest viewer do not seem to work by typing in the ip address of the camera

Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
Tinycam uses IP and Ports. Like I posted, each camera needs to have a unique IP and HTTP port. The IP setup is found under the setting TCP/IP and the Port is found under the setting Connection. You then access the camera with 192.168.0.182:<port>
Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
As I said the cameras have static IP addresses set up within my internal network. all ports are in the default configuration. I am trying to view them from within my network not from an external IP address.
I have attached screenshots of my configuration.
Today both cameras show up fine in tinycam, I have not made any changes to the cameras/tinycam/or my router. Router has not been rebooted recently either. Cameras have been rebooted through web interface a few times but I have not been able to get them to show up in tinycam since the first day I set them up. I had them working fine with this configuration for 24 hours when i initially set them up, the next day they only worked in armcrest viewer (it was like this for about a week now) . So I'll have to wait to see if they stay accessible in tinycam.

Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
If all your cameras are using the default ports then you have cameras set up with the same port. You can't have that. Set your HTTP ports to 1501, 1502, and 1503 in the different cameras. In Amcrest, it's under Connection. In Foscam, it's under Network and then Port. Then, specify the unique port in Tinycam.
Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
That does not sound right. To connect to a device on the same network you need the IP address and Port. Each of his cameras have different IP Addresses so they can have the same port. I have 3 cameras, one amcrest and two foscam they all have the same ports internally and work fine.t84a wrote:If all your cameras are using the default ports then you have cameras set up with the same port. You need different ports when you want to access them from off your network but I manage that at the router with port forwarding.
For example:
Cam 1 Internal port 1500 | Port Forward external port 1501 - Internal port 1500
Cam 2 Internal port 1500 | Port Forward external port 1502 - Internal port 1500
Cam 3 Internal port 1500 | Port Forward external port 1503 - Internal port 1500
Then when setting up tinycam you have a local network section where you would use port 1500 on each camera. Then in the external network settings you would use the 1501, 1502, 1503 you configured on your router for port forwarding.
IP2M-841
Re: cannot connect to ip2m-841 with tinycam on android
yes internally different IP addresses with the same default ports across cameras
right now one camera is working properly in both tinycam and amcrest viewer. The other camera is only working in amcrest viewer. the inconsistency is what is really bothering me as working in tinycam seems to vary day to day without any changes being made to my camera or router configuration.
