AmcrestView web P2P

Post by GreenScrew »

I have to commend Amcrest for their P2P implementation. I can't speak to the security of it, but the ease and simplicity, as well as a very nice (looking) interface, is great! No port forwarding to configure on the router, it just works. Fantastic!

The only shorcomings, that really should be resolved:
1) Web plug-in for IE has a bad signature making it very difficult to install on Windows 10
2) On small screens with high resolution there seems to be a problem with rendering/positioning and things don't work well
3) UI, while it looks nice, is not all that intuitive. In particular, the saved PTZ positions need to have list/labeling capability and more intuitive save/delete functionality.

But otherwise, seriously fantastic job Amcrest!!!

I have the same problem. Here it is July 23, 2016 and it is still bad signature for the P-P plug in. Can't install.
I tried a chat with a support rep but was cut off halfway through.

Hello dougg,

Even through it says invalid signature, you can trust it and run it. Please contact our phone support as the live chat currently only have sales representatives.

Hi Melvin. You do a great job on these forums. And what you say here is true, however in this current era of cybersecurity concerns, any legitimate and trustworthy company should not have this digital certificate problem. For sure not ongoing. You need to have your technical folks get the digital certificate issue fixed. Its very concerning.
