Amcrest IP2M-841 Custom Alarm

Hi Guys

I bought an Amcrest IP2M-841 last week.
Having never set up an IP Camera before it took me a few days to figure everything out but its sorted now.
It captures video when motion is detected and uploads by FTP to my remote server.
Its a nice camera I'm impressed.

Just one question what does the Custom Alarm setting do?


In the manual it doesn't really explain it, but seems to say you can set it to play a wav file of your choice when motion is detected.
Does the custom alarm sound come out of the camera or the phone? Either way it doesn't work.
Does the wav file have to have a specific bitrate or be below a certain size in kb?

The reason I ask is I found a wav of a growling dog online and thought it would be a nice touch if the camera played it when motion was detected.

Is that possible?

I think it plays the wav file on your PC but that's a guess.

Congratulations setting up your camera. As you have learned, the manual is not clear. Unfortunatley, you will also learn that things may not work as expected, if at all.
