Hello, I am considering a few Amcrest POE IP cameras and have a few questions before I do so.
-I am definitely interested in cloud storage. Do Amcrest's cloud storage plans provide 24/7 continuous recording, or only when motion is detected? (I have a symmetrical gigabit internet connection with no cap, so the bandwidth required to stream 3-4 cameras 24/7 to the cloud is not a concern.)
-If the answer to the above question is "only when motion is detected...", what options are available for those who want 24/7 recording? Do we have to purchase an NVR, or are there other 3rd party cloud providers that support these cameras and offer 24/7 recording? I would only need to store 7-14 days of video at a time, but I want the option to view 24/7 footage during that timeframe.
-Alerts are important to me. I know they are available with the Amcrest Cloud option. If I chose to go the local route and just use an NVR, could I receive immediate alerts when motion is detected, with the option to view it remotely? As a sub-question to that, if I'm recording 24/7, could I still receive alerts when motion is detected? Though I would have 24/7 footage, I would also want the ability to easily locate motion events when they are detected.
-Lastly, is it common to use both an NVR/DVR, as well as the cloud service together? If so, what are the pros and cons to this?
Thank you for your help!

Re: Amcrest Cloud Storage
Amcrest Cloud - Only when motion is detected. In addition, the Cloud will change the video resolution settings on your cameras which is VERY irritating.
Re: Amcrest Cloud Storage
Hello CHFShane ,
Amcrest Cloud only supports motion detection recording. If you want full time recording, NVR is a good option. You can also convert the PC to an NVR using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software.
It is possible to get alerts with motion even when full time recording is enabled.
