Amcrest 720P HDCVI 8CH 2TB DVR Stopped Working

Post by navinbriggs »

I have a Amcrest 720P HDCVI 8CH 2TB DVR and it stopped working. It just beeps every few minutes and has a constant humming noise, fan does not work at all. It happened after I lost power to the house. Do you think its fried? Being this is a HDCVI is there a replacement available?

The unit is from 2015 so I doubt the warranty is still valid. I've tried to call Amcrest three times now only to hang up after being on hold for over 10 minutes each time.

Got it working again but now the hard drive is not recording and "No Disk" appears in the upper left corner of each live view.

Hello navinbriggs ,

Please open the DVR box and ensure that the connections on the hard drive are intact. The sata and power cable should be properly connected.

If they are then you may have to try replacing the hard drive.
