Upgraded Firmware. Lost notifications.

Post by ckronengold »

Plain and simple. Upgraded to the new firmware. Lost notifications when the doorbell is pushed on both my phone (Pixel 4) and my wife's (iPhone 11).

Is there a trick? Is this like with the chime where setting it to "digital" made the mechanical work? Need to set it to "off" in order for it to be "on"?

At times when a new update is installed a Factory Reset needs to be done.. While others might go on life as normal and didn't do a reset I am going to guess that a Factory Reset will or should fix your problems your having.. I know it is a PITA to have to do resets and then set the things back up in App but there is the magic... After I reset mine it has not been going crazy on alerts like it was after the update and first reset.. However I do have to admit It wouldn't add it back like it did the first time I had to delete it from the app the second time. Then all Green is gone and camera doorbell working as it was expected ...

Especially since I factory reset it last week, then for the new firmware, but not for the new new firmware.

Yes sadly at times when a NEW FW is installed it can take the info from the old FW and keep using the old info. So to insure that the Camera using right FW data a Factory reset is recommended after every FW update...

i did not experience any of the the issues ad110 owners have experienced following the two firmware updates; neither with july 1 nor july 2. both firmware updates didn't need me to perform a hard reset.

While it might not have made you do a Reset you also said that your color was off.. I am going to guess that while it might not make a difference I can tell you that after my first Reset that didn't do anything other then make my alerts go crazy my Green color was still there however on the second one where not only did I reset it but also deleted it from my App.. The colors look good and back to normal no Magenta or Green as it was last... However I am not sure why it was like that and when I sent to the 2 people I am in Contact with at Amcrest, Both said don't know why it was Green and anything other then normal colors before... So I will see what happens I was about to send it back for Replacement but since it is normal right now I put the replacement on Hold...

Personally if there was anything not working out of normal I would do a reset and see if that clears it up... Just saying...

the magenta color is the result of the 20200509 firmware update; the same firmware associated with the infamous 'offline' status. no change to the magenta color even after a hard reset. firmware updates from 20200701 and 20200702 didn't appear to have reduce the magenta color. perhaps you're right i should perform the hard reset and see if it will rectify the magenta hue since i didn't do the hard resets following the two firmware updates. for now all the other doorbell functionalities like alerts and calls are working like usual hence i'm not in a hurry yet to do a hard reset.

Understand why I was just saying at times with issues and seeing that it corrected my VERY green scene that I posted somewhere on here it is now back to the normal colors before I had either of the 2 color shifts...

Not telling anyone to do anything offering advice on what may correct something that is currently off.. Yet it may not and may have even worse effect on the whole system.. So I understand not wanting to do a Factory Reset

Back in business. I think the issue was that I hadn't turned Push Notifications back on after deleting and re-adding the app.

I had to do the following:
1. Factory Reset
2. Delete doorbell on SmartHome app
3. Re-Add doorbell on SmartHome app (and config as desired)
4. Push notifications are back
