I just picked up one of these Smart Home kits with the two battery powered cameras and I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not but there are ZERO motion settings on these cameras. They trigger motion alerts constantly, if the wind blows, the sun goes behind a cloud, basically anything. There is no way to setup zones or change alert settings at all either.
Am I missing something here, did I not set these up correctly?
Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
Hello and Welcome to the Forum
So I am not sure as I don't have them cameras.. But on the Smart Home app there is no area under the COG for setting up Motion like there is on the ASh21 and the doorbell?
I am going to guess that maybe you might want to do a Factory reset.. I know it don't make since that someone that buys a new camera would need to do a reset but at times I found that it is needed for things to work right.. Sadly as I said I don't own them cameras so I don't know where the button is ATM.. However I am sure there should be one... On the ash21 it is on the camera head and have to force the head to show the spot where the button is..
Are you using the smart Home app or is there an app for the cameras?

Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
No reset button on these cameras, and there is no settings other than motion detection on and off. Yes, I am using the smart home app. It says these cameras are compatible with a couple different amcrest softwares including blue iris as well. I can only assume that the smart home software is underdeveloped and that there may be more features using blue iris?
Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
Well I have an ASH21 and the Doorbell and Doorbell and both use the Smarthome app.. Doorbell came out with not much for motion to start out with after a Update it was much better...
When i turn on my Motion I then get an area that lets me make a Grid for my cameras your camera don't have anything that comes out when you turn on Motion to setup a Time or even a Grid? Can you take a Snapshot of the setup or screen shot as some phones have the ability and some might not but all of mine do...

Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
Seems like you have a "AI" cam that they have advertised as having those functions, along with the doorbell. The one's that come with the smart home kit seem to have little to no adjustments for anything, you cannot even turn off the IR for night vision. Battery life already seems to be mediocre at best as I am already down 10% and its only been 8 hours on both cameras. No way that will last 6 months. I also don't like the idea that when you open to the app main screen you don't get a view of the camera views, you just get this generic device list which only displays the smart hub. Then you have to click your way through to get to the live camera views.
Ill try to post some pictures tomorrow of the setup screen but I can assure you there is no such option to setup motion zones or times or even sensitivity like I have seen for the doorbell. I don't understand why they would exclude this feature full well knowing these cameras would obviously be pointed in a direction that they would pick up cars going down a neighborhood street.

Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
I understand I was just wanting to see what it was about... Sadly maybe for your needs you may want to try and find another camera that would better suit your needs... Any updates that might be something to look at doing if there are any.. I remember when I got my CVI DVR some years ago I just setup the 4 cameras it came with on my Garage and set it to overwrite and was almost 2 years before even looking at the unit again. Then last year Mind you it was bought 2015 or 16. I can't remember now.. But anyway it wasn't until last year that I updated the FW to the 2017 one and that was because it offered IP channels.. So there can at times be a benefit to doing updates... With new cameras if there is an update it is because there was a need.. With that it is NEW tech so it might be the updates with the whole pandemic going on might have been in the works and delayed... I am not sure...

Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
Welp, we bought the cloud storage for both cameras, 30 days each and it recorded nothing to the cloud after a full night of motion detection events.
Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
So when you go under events, it will display a list of recorded events you can play back, but when you go under cloud storage, you get nothing.

Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
So I am not sure if you have a Cloud account? if you have setup on then I would look on the cloud to see if there are settings for your camera in the cloud because in normal Amcrest cameras if changes are made outside the cloud the cloud will change them back if not changed there as well.. So I removed my Cloud account I set up..
So I have empty Cloud Recordings in there as well.. Looks like your system is setup for USB storage off the HUB... Where my option on the right is MSD recordings that are on my cameras card on the cameras that I have it installed in... So for me when I have alerts on my app I can find my Recordings on the MSD.. I also setup PC-NVR and FTP so I have backups as well...
Edit: so I looked back over your post before where you said you bought Storage for the Cameras...
You need to setup the Camera to the Storage and I am guessing that is why there is nothing storing...

Re: Amcrest Bat Camera, no motion detection settings?
Here is a few pictures of the information under device info and cloud storage. It say it has an active subscription however nothing records under cloud storage. There is no USB in the smart hub. You can also see here there are no additional menu's for motion detection.
