AD110 Stopped Responding

Post by ckronengold »

I have been using the AD110 for the last 3 months or so. I constantly had connection issues, and finally upgraded my wifi network with additional access points.

In trying to get the doorbell connected to the new wifi network, I needed to find the doorbell's IP address. I tried to find it using the IP Config Tool, but it didn't show anything. I assumed that was because I had the camera's subnet on a different subnet as my laptop.

I tried to ping the doorbell and see if it was online or not. I tried to access it through a browser, but was unable to get any response from the doorbell.

It went to factory reset it, but the reset button isn't doing anything either. The doorbell LED is solid blue, but otherwise not responsive. I held the reset button in for a minute, but it never changed color.

My next step is to kill the power to the transformer (I was going to replace the 16v 10va transformer with a 16v 30va transformer, which is why I was doing all of this).

Any suggestions? Or is it time for an RMA?

Make sure you're holding in the reset button for a good 10+ seconds or until the unit states that its hard resetting... then it will take a minute to return to the swirly blue ready to setup lighting.

@ckronengold, does the indoor chime work when you press the doorbell button? are you able to open the smart home app and it shows the doorbell is online?

It did, but it no longer does.

The app shows the doorbell is offline.

I was holding it 30-45 seconds. Never said anything.
I had just reset the doorbell 3 days ago and I got the "wifi hotspot activated" message almost immediately.
So 'something' happened.

@ckronengold , it appears you have bricked your doorbell and i highly suspect its the ipconfig tool. ensure the doorbell is getting enough power though and confirm it with a multi-meter reading.

It had enough power for the last 3 months, so I'm guessing that isn't the problem. I did buy a new transformer (16v 30va) that I hope to install today. But I don't think its going to do anything.
