Outdoor Night Vision Motion Detection False Positives

I just joined this forum to see if anyone else has solved this :)

During the day the motion detection on my 3mp bullet poe nvr system works pretty perfectly - I get notifications to my phone exactly as I would expect pretty reliably. Also kudos for being the most reliable when connecting remotely. Besides the lack of sound, this night vision issue is the only main deal breaker.

At night, I just turn the push notifications off because I am inundated with false positives. Mainly bugs, particles, car light reflections on my lawn. Rain is amazingly annoying! A general problem w/ these night vision systems is that the LEDs also attract spiders...

I don't know if the problem is solvable w/ settings unless amcrest does some sort of night vision mode in software - but that might not even be possible.

So until they come out with ultra sensitive low light cameras that don't need IR LEDs, or color night vision like Lorex has (https://www.amazon.com/Lorex-LNE4322B-C ... JH2RHHHRXW, which also may not even work, or work with the amcrest NVR, has anyone tried???), I think the best solution is turning off night LEDs altogether and just installing sensor security lights with their own motion detection. I think you could also have stand alone motion detectors trigger a camera alert, but not sure how you could connect that to the system.

I have a foscam camera that is stand alone which I just leave night vision off and it is sensitive enough to pick up quite a bit with just a security light, so I know this should work.

Wondering if anyone has tried other brands cameras or figured anything else out?

I've emailed acrest support to add a feature request to the ios app to allow me to make a secondary smaller zone to keep push notifications on, but at the moment, it only supports one zone per channel, so I have to leave it on a large detection area to make sure I am recording to the NVR.

Complicated problem, hoping someone has ideas! Thanks!
