Snapshots not being sent

ok- I'm about ready to give up on this. I am getting cloud notifications for video captures, but nothing for snapshots. I have the email setup properly under networks SMTP, and tests successfully.
When I manually click the snapshot/record/triple snapshot buttons on the amcrest dashboard they go to the correct folder I have designated as expected. But when motion/alarm is triggered no email attachments send via my gmail account at all. Instead I'm just getting cloud notifications
I'm at a loss here
