Was recording fine after motion detection or manually starting it but now whenever it detects motion or I press to manually record, it only takes a snapshot then stops recording. I replaced the micro-SD card and that didn't fix it. I have two cameras and no matter which one starts recording the touch-screen only shows a snapshot to play back with 0 sec time displayed on recording. Use to record 5 minutes when motion was detected since that was the setting I used and would record manually until I stopped it too. Now only takes a snapshot. I bought the Amcrest (WLD895US) Surveillance System on Dec 16, 2015. So it shouldn't have gone bad so soon. At least I hope not and there's a fix.

Update. Problem solved! Had to reset to default settings. It records now even after I put my settings. Guess the software bugged and had to reset to fix it.

I'm having the same problem with the system only taking snapshots even though I've set the system to default, my firmware version is 0.60 would this be the same as yours?

Yes it's 0.60 too. Just have to go to System->touch the GEAR->touch START. It will reset to default settings and it will be fixed. You can place your settings again and it will still work.

Oh. Just realized you tried that. Maybe power it off and remove and reinsert the SD card. Resetting to default settings worked for me. Not sure why it doesn't for you.

Hi NyteRazor, one thing that I've noticed is that when I play the recording on my pc frame by frame I can actually see that the end couple of seconds are played fast forward so that it looks like a snapshot! anyway, I've got a scheduled call with Amcrest tec support next week, I'll post the outcome just incase there's anyone else out there with the problem.

I just use the touch screen device and didn't think to play what's on the microSD card onto my computer. I just wonder what happened that made it bug out. As long as resetting to default fixed it, I'm happy and know what to do next time it happens. Hope the technician finds the problem so we all get updated firmware and not just erase then reinstall the firmware to get it working because it may happen again.

I was fiddling around, as you do, trying to pair the cameras with the touch screen again, but still getting the snapshot, I thought just turn the camera off and then back on after trying to pair, and voila, it worked. I switched my other cameras off for about 30secs without trying to pair and again it worked, the cameras started recording and playing back normally. I should have tried rebooting the cameras from the start (by the way I'm whispering just in case it can hear me)

That's great. No problems for me so far. Must be some rare glitch.

It happened again. This time I didn't click on to use default settings. I switched the cameras from HD to SD then manually recorded which was fine. I then switched them to HD and started manual recordings and it was fine too. So basically when it rarely stops recording when there it motion detected or via manually, I just switch the cameras from HD to SD then back to HD then check with a manual recording.
