Hi, I have two amcrest doorbell installed and they used to work flawlessly with no problem on both ringing from the doorbell itself as well as triggering the mechanical chime with the kit installed at the same time.

But today, there is a new firmware 1.000.00AC006.0.R.200922 , and after I update it , the mechanical chime stopped being triggered, all I hear is only the sound from the doorbell itself.

Has anyone encounter the same problem? Any way I can roll back the firmware to the last one?

After an update people should Reset the doorbell and setup to the Chime again.. IT should ask what type of chime you have.. ONe reset today it didn't ask me I had to tell it the next reset and delete the camera from the app again it did ask me on Setup... However you can go into the App and click on Amcrest Chimes, then click the + to link Digital/Mechanical Chime.. Sadly not sure if maybe it has reverted back to where you might have to pick a different type over the one you have before it will work but is something to look over...

I have manually try each of the chime selection, Mechanical/Digital/No Chime , and it doesn't change a thing.

What firmware version you are having on your doorbell?

I am using 922 and it worked as well on 828 so I am not sure why some it works and some it don't but for me it does on 922 as well as 828.. At first time I did have an issue on 828 I did a reset and it started working...

But don't you think it might be a wrong firmware if you compare the version number from the latest one being pushed to the one from last round?

Before: V1.000.00AC006.0.R.20200828
Current: V1.000.00AC006.0.R.200922

not sure if it is really 2009 22 or year 20, month 09 day 22 , but this latest firmware definitely impact the chime. I'm going to try reset it

ok, reset works on one of them and mechanical chime is back. But it's a pita when there's a firmware update, I'll have to reset the device and re-add the device, especially when the qr code and reset button is not easily accessible unless I open the door bell

the second one is also fixed by reset and re-adding it to the amcrest smart home app... what a hassle...

Yes sadly that is a PITA.. I am not sure why there are some that don't Reset or they say they don't and they don't have any issues.. I personally have found that there is odd config sizes.. I know that going back to factory from a Setup doorbell camera will remove some of the Config for Motion, and what not so there would be some code difference however not 2k or more lines of data...

Plus I have in the past have had some issues with mine working right even after doing a Reset didn't work right I had to do it 2 times this last time so far I have only done 1 Reset and things have been fine...

Completely agree. Just got a new doorbell and everything worked with my mechanical chime. Then I updated the firmware and it stopped working. I tried everything from messing with wires to thinking the chime might be broken.

Then I found this thread. Did a hard reset, and then brought up the camera like new (also had to reinstall the app since something weird was happening) and selected mechanical chime and it was working again like new.

This seems very much like a firmware bug.
