Amcrest Forum

+1 got the same issue.
amcrest can you please advice on when this functionality will be available?

Melvin wrote:Hello,
Unfortunately there is no option for that at the moment other than using an online converter program. We are in the process of updating the device firmware that will enable recording videos in MP4 format.

This was over a year ago!

I just bought a IP2M-844E model and I mostly like it. Except for DAV format over FTP.
Which is a problem especially since I am exclusively using Linux. Which doesn't seem to be supported at all...

Are there any updates on that?
When (if at all) are you planning to release firmware that makes it possible to use MP4 format instead??

In the meantime, I found a work-around for Linux.
Amcrest's .dav files can be played using 'ffplay'.

But I still would love to see firmware update that brings MP4 with FTP!

When will be mp4 available?!

Hello allmoney.ws ,

Most of our IP cams with the latest firmware support MP4 recording now.

How to update IP2M-844E to the latest firmware version? The firmware on https://amcrest.com/firmware is over 6 months old and it doesn't look like it supports MP4...

Hello qoobs ,

New update would be made available for this model very soon.

Thank you so much for the update!
