Kcam, yes I can play back over remote, I tried it over the lunch hour from work today just to see if it would work as I had issues with one frame per 10 seconds on playback super slow-mo! I resolved it by enabling the extra stream setting in the NVR (D'uh moment on me) I set my substream bitrate to 256 . I have a 2mb uplink to web, it seems to actually stream smoother on my iphone 5s.

Kcam/Rik/AmUser2018/William A my NV4108E is useless for recordings remote playback yet will only work on LAN. Please see my writeup with all my testing information under "NV4108E Remote Playback issues" topic. Still awaiting a solution from Amcrest since mid year 2017 with Amcrest sending me emails stating that they are working on this problem with "have a nice day" response. My patience is running out .

Rik, I just wanted to verify yours is the N4108- HS non E? I guess I could purchase the 4108E-HS and see if it'll work since mine isn't a HS model.

Hi Kcam, mine is the nv4108-hs. I bought it just before Christmas. I’m not sure what the difference is between our units.

Rik, I'm guessing the NV4108HS is a newer version that can handle up to 8MP cameras and a 6TB hard drive were the other NV4108 can only handle up to 5MP cameras and a 4 TB hard drive. I'll try the settings you suggested and see if it'll work. Thanks!

Hi Kcam!
I know what you mean! The only thing I noticed was my cams were refreshed settings (Amcrest 4mp-1025) They went white and then back no normal, I reset my cam setting in the camera directly because i prefer that method. Other than that I have no idea what the changes in the update was supposed to help. I’ll go see if I can find out.

Updated firmware on NV4108E-HS to latest version created in January '18 . So far everything looks good. Wish they had a update for the NV4108E non HS. I have a RMA to send it back to get replaced from everything I read that won't cure the problem.

Raptor,William A, Klbj , hshalom , Kcam , I have not seen any response solution from Amcrest.
What are you now doing with your NV4108/NV4108E nvrs ?
My NV4108E works great for playback on the LAN either with Amcrest Surveillance Pro ,
http://www.amcrestview.com on IE and FF browsers and Amcrestview Pro (latest v.3.43.0102) BUT has major issues if I am remotely located using any of the above methods for playback. My remote location wifi download and upload speeds are over twice the local location so no issues here.
If I could get the same results for playback remotely as with LAN location playback then I would be very satisfied with the NV4108E. But at present my NV4108E is useless and of no value for remote playback which was a main reason for purchase.
Hope Amcrest is listening.
