Dumb question...is there any problem with connecting a non-PoE camera (IPM-HX1B) to the PoE ports on the NVR (NV4108E)? I assume not but I'd rather not find out the hard way.
Obviously I'll use the wall wart to power up the camera.

That's a fair question. 
To keep my answer short: Yes, no problem. A device that can accept power is recognized by the PoE port. Only then it will activate it's power output. Otherwise it will remain deactivated.
