Couple of questions
1) does anyone know where the video files are located when recording to the PC and how you can get to them.
The software is not very usefull if you can't copy the video files to a location outside the location of the recording PC. If the property gets broken into all they have to do is grab the computer and the video with go with it.
Level one support was not helpful on this. Level 2 support was not helpful on this, waiting for contact from "senior" support staff.
2) Is this even Amcrest software, it seems as though it's exactly the same as the Dahua smart PSS. Who wrote this software and would know how it should work???
3) Does anyone know what the "local" tab is for on the playback screen. Only the device tab shows playbacks both from the camera and the PC-NVR. the other tab doesn't seem to do anything. Support was no help on this either.
Lastly, it seems as though the camera can occasionally get confused and stop recording. Unfortunately, the fix from support was to format the card, reset up recording on the camera. Delete the camera and the pc-nvr device in the software, uninstall and re-install the software. In other words the nuclear option which is usually indicative of non understanding. It's the kind of thing I would expect geek squad to do.
If the Amcrest package does have the ability to let me get at the video files, I would appreciate any recommendations on pc software that would actually be useful.
