Recommendation for recording sound outdoors?

My dream is that amcrest will release an outdoor poe wide angle eyeball with color night vision and sound recording.

Until that day comes, can anyone recommend a way to get sound recorded onto my NVR (AMNV30M8-4B-B) in an outdoor setting? Even if it is a stand alone mic.

In my case, I don't need ptz or pan/tilt, so eyeball is the perfect form factor, and if it had audio but wasn't outdoor certified, it would still work!
