Downloading recorded files from SD card
Downloading recorded files from SD card
I would like to know if there are APIs (http requests?) to download recorded files from SD card. Basically, under some specific condition (e.g. when network has no traffic), I want to programmatically download those motion-triggered recorded files from the SD card on the IP2M-841, instead of using the web browser to manually browse through the file list and select files to download one by one.

Hello pvn01 ,
Please check the http API document below.

Thanks, Melvin. I will look into that.
Re: Downloading recorded files from SD card
Hi Melvin,
I have tried some APIs from the document with curl. I could download a file with the API at 4.11.6 (Download media file with the file name). But when I tried the API at 4.11.7 (Download media file between times), it failed with "500 Internal Server Error".
Then I tried the APIs at 4.11.5 (Find media files); the API to create media object ID returns what looked like a valid ID, while the API "findfile" always returns "Empty reply from server"
I also tried the python api wrapper at https://github.com/tchellomello/python-amcrest but having similar results.
I was trying to post the actual command outputs, but this site blocked them all.
Could you shed some light? I simply want to programmatically get a motion-triggered recorded file on the sd card, with the start&time that I would get from either the "alarm function" or from the snapshots on my ftp server -- my current ip camera configuration is to "record motion on sd, send snapshots to ftp server"

Re: Downloading recorded files from SD card
I was able to get it working from Python with the API calls but had to cheat a little and copy/paste the cookies from an active web browser session.
I blogged about it here: https://partofthething.com/thoughts/dow ... th-python/

Re: Downloading recorded files from SD card
I'd like to the exact same thing with my IP8M-T2499EW cams. This post is 3 years old. Is this still the best/easiest way to get it done or are there better methods available now?
Thanks!
Thanks!
