Software for viewing files on my NAS

[darctigerman]

So, I have my camera set to FTP motion video's to my synology NAS.

But they are in DAV format, which appears to be the least supported format ever.

I am looking for software that will give me a decent DVR like functionality.
I have a Smart Play installed, and with my NAS remotely mounted on my windows PC, I can view individual folders.
But its very inconvenient to move from folder to folder, where each individual hour's worth of video is held.

Amcrest Surveillance pro is installed as well, but seems unstable and freezes up the computer when used. It appears that it can be used to make its own DVR functionality, but I don't see a way to point it at my already existing files on my network drive.

Looking for any advise on how to use the Amcrest software better, or if there are any other options.

That's what sucks about recording to a NAS or FTP, I'm not sure if there's anything for that.
