"MMX may be busy..."

Post by Mildew »

I was attempting to set up four Amcrest cameras (two 841's and two 842's) for a friend. I had no problems with the 841's, but I had a problem with both 842's. When logging in via quickddns with Firefox, I got a message "MMX may be busy..." and then I clicked "continue" to enable the plugin. The video stream failed although I could still access setup. So, I increased the Firefox plugin time from 10 seconds to 20 seconds, but that didn't work.

I tried the factory reset, that did not solve the problem. There are no firmware updates.

What is the fix for the MMX problem?

Interesting - I am fine with 2 721s and 2 841s. Added a 722 from New Egg and boom MMX issues.

Hello ,

Is the issue only when the 5th camera is opened. It could be that all the cameras could be creating a work load and causing this issue on the computer. Power recycle that camera and see if the issue persists. If you continue to have issues, try using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software.

That would not be the problem in my case. At the time, I only had one 841 camera on the network. I power cycled, hard reset, etc. Nothing worked. The cameras are still with my friend, I may have to tell him to send the 842's back.

Has an answer been found for this issue?
I can't live view in any browser for the IP2M-842P camera but I can on my phone.

Hello,

Issue seems to be specific to some computers. I would suggest using the 'Amcrest Surveillance pro' software in this situation.

will Amcrest Surveillance Pro be useful in my case. the cameras are in a different location( 10 hours away) and are wi-fi connected to a router, only, that is port forwarded. One camera I can live view but the Amcrest 842P I can only get into the settings. I've had the same result with three different computers Will this software let me put in the settings here at home to live view and record without a DVR?
FYI: I have been waiting for over 15 minutes for the software to install. It is stuck. This is my third try to install it and yes, I did pick the version for Windows.

Hello,

It should work if the TCP port is open. But if the connection is slow, it might have issues connecting.
