No Clear Pictures

Post by Destinwilli »

I just installed the 720p amcrest HD-CVI this past weekend. Before installation I hooked everything up to see if there was no issue, and everything was just fine.

After installation, everything was fine for about 3 hours and than the issue started. First I though it was the cables, but now I think it is the DVR. When I connect two cameras in #1 and #3, no issue. As soon as I connect the remaining cables it starts with some green static lines or completely turning black.

I discovered that the problem at night is not really present, but starts after awhile mildly.
Daytime is when the problem is strong.

Has anybody experienced the same issue? The picture attached is only a mild version of the issue.

Thanks,
W

Hello,

Can you double check the connections on the back of the DVR as well as on the back of the camera? Are you using extended cables or just the ones that came with the unit? Also, the issue is not with one or two specific cameras but all of them?

thank your for your reply. All connections are correct. No extended cables, only the ones that came with the system.

What puzzles me is, it can go for hours just fine - clear picture and no interruptions. Out of nowhere it starts acting up. It starts with 2 cameras and next thing I know it's all four.

Hello,

Are the cables running parallel to any electrical lines as this could cause interference. If not, it could be a faulty unit. I would suggest you replace it.

Thank you! Yes it has to be the DVR, because last night I watched my home from work and it started again. After 1 hour it stopped and only camera one started acting up real bad. When I got home I checked all cameras and everything seemed fine.

I unplugged all camera cables on DVR. Plugged them back in and the same camera was acting up, I plugged the camera that was acting up into a different port and it was just fine. Any camera I plugged in port 1 was doing the same thing. I turned off DVR and booted it back up and everything was fine. Now while I am writing this it is starting to act up.

How can I replace my DVR unit?

Thank you,
Melvin
