Camera Detection Issue

I have an issue in which the camera will detect me coming out of the front door, but it will not detect someone walking up to the porch before hand. I have had this happen to several cameras that I have switched out on the front porch.

When I look at the selection grid, it is all selected from the front door to the beyond the porch line.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

Hello @rl0822 Welcome to the Forum

Couple of things come to mind but not sure if your talking about using your camera Stand alone or With DVR/NVR and with that info might help better understand the problem and offer better assistance..

It is a wifi standalone camera. I have used different cameras, same IP-721/723 cameras have been used in the same spot and they both have issues where it detects me coming out from the front door and not often people coming from the porch to leave packages

I have a 721 that I have on my Stairs, It detects going up and going down.. I have it setup to record 120 after last movement and 5 seconds per.. IT has been very stable sadly it is POE so it is not on a newer FW and is on the last FW that it has been offered.. SO my 721 being a POE might be different then yours if it is on a newer FW..

I would personally try and do a Reset of the camera and leave the Threshold and Sensitivity as it was after doing a Reset.. Then I would setup the Grid for your needs with only 1 option for motion

I would give that a try and see what happens..

Here is the Version I am on 2.420.AC00.12.R, build : 2016-04-13 as I said it is a POE 721 and that is the last FW that I found for it online..
