I just upgraded the firmware on my IP2M-841W camera.
Download file: Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_N_AMCREST_V2.420.AC00.18.R.20200217.bin
I have the camera IR set to the "Smart IR" setting so that it will turn on the IR at night, and off during the day.
With the new version of firmware, I get a motion event every time the light changes it's state.
That didn't happen with the old firmware.
Is this a bug in the new firmware release?
I just noticed that I can download a "previous" release from the download site.
I will try that while waiting for a response here.
But in the meantime, if there is a work-around, or if I am misunderstanding how this feature might have changed in the new version, I would appreciate any help in getting this to work correctly.
Thanks.

Re: IP2M-841 Event video detection
Hello and Welcome to the Forum...
Sadly I am not sure that there is going to be a way to keep that from not giving you a notice..
About your Updated FILE for the 841 if you try any of the ones on the website they are outside of the scope of the one you listed That one listed is old from 2017 and the 2019 and 2020 FW are both JS and is said not to go back to any older FW as it can make the Camera not work at a Min to Bricking the camera in worse case...

Re: IP2M-841 Event video detection
Well that's not good... I certainly don't want to brick my camera!
But just to make sure I understand you...
The upgrade file that I referenced was was released on 2/17/2020.
I downloaded the "previous version" that is still available on the download page, it was released on 12/18/2019.
I have not tried to upgrade with the "previous" file yet, but it sure sounds like you are telling me that that is a bad idea...
In any case, if this problem is considered a bug, I would hope that at some point there would be a future release to fix this issue.

Re: IP2M-841 Event video detection
Aww sorry the 2 and 17 had me thinking it was the 2017 version I wasn't looking at all the numbers...
The 2020 and the 2019 version are JS and you can go between them... However if you had one of the few older ones and tried to go back to any of them that might harm your camera...
About it being a Bug I am not sure that getting a Motion alert at the time of IR activation is going to be top on the list of things to repair.. I can tell you that sadly most of my cameras that I have working in IR at night and setup for motion alerts I get an alert.. While I can't say I know if there was an issue in the past or not because sadly most of my Amcrest Camera now have the NEW fW on them all that can anyway and the ones that don't have the new FW i use in Color at night... I will do some testing on a POE 721, and my 751 that has old FW and see if there is any Notice when it goes into IR mode or not...
Maybe there was a way to program that out on IR ignore alert for xyz and with new FW that might have been omitted and might be able to program it back in..

Re: IP2M-841 Event video detection
Thank you for the clarification...
I decided to try downgrading one of my cameras to the 12/18/2019 release to see what happens.
Both the 12/18/2019, and the 2/17/2020 versions have the same behavior, so the feature must have changed in some earlier release.
I don't know what version of firmware I had before I started this whole upgrade effort, but I am certain it was a release from more than a year ago.
There is probably quite a bit of release history and changes that are different from the original version.
But the latest version has much better support for the web UI interface, so for that reason alone, I want to try and make it work.
My main use case requirement is for the camera to reliably detect motion both in the dark, and during the day.
So it seems that the "Smart IR" option is needed...
The latest code seems to make "Color" (or the "Auto" for that matter) mutually exclusive with the "Smart IR".
Changing my camera config to the following seems to help avoid false triggers when the IR light changes state:
* Camera/Configuration/IR_Light/Mode setting == "Smart IR"
* Camera/Configuration/Day_&_Night/Mode setting == "B/W" (NOT "Color" or "Auto")
I am disappointed that I had to give up a color display during the day, but at least my main use-case requirement has been satisfied.

Re: IP2M-841 Event video detection
You can set a Time zone for what is what under the schedule... Rather then keeping it full time B/W and that might make the issue go away...
This is under Camera, Configuration, Profile management... It might be rather then keeping it Auto to change from day to night maybe in a Schedule of day to night change will keep the False alert away? So you can set up your Day time under the Day/Night area and night under that setup area then when you make the schedule changes it is hard coded to do as you want.. SO if the issue is that the camera keeps going from day to night back to day and does these over and over and gives you the false alerts this is how you would make that go away because when you say you want B/W at 9pm then Color at 5am that is what your camera will do Just an idea...
