I am switching over from an analog system and trying to get rid of as many wires as I can...
This camera series is not POE is it? I thought WIFI was the way to go but it is too choppy (momentary freezing) so I am going to go with Ethernet connections
IP4M-1026
Re: IP4M-1026
Things that are POE from Amcrest will have a E in the name so if they made a 1026 lets say it was POE it would say IP4M-1026EW and that would be that it is POE in White... EB would be Black.. So they do make that Camera in POE model if you look at the sticker on the Camera if it was POE it would like I said have E after number.. Also on that Sticker it would, could or Should say 12vdc 2amps, POE or POE+ and or other factors on the camera so you know if it is or isn't..
Sorry if your asking about a Camera you don't have then Yes in short that camera comes in all flavors

Exactly the info. I needed, thanks...
Re: IP4M-1026
I am curious to know, when you went to the Ethernet connection did the choppiness go away. I have the same cameras and the same choppy look. For me wireless is the only way to go. I have been reading thru here looking for a "fix".

Re: IP4M-1026
The choppiness is probably being caused by losing frames. This can happen when the wifi connection is too slow, the antenna is restricted by something, the wifi system is overloaded, or you have a slow router. Some suggestions:
First, try slowing down the frame rate and bit rate. Default is 30 fps which is too fast for wifi. You can get there under device config - encode or by accessing 'setup' using browser direct connection. I have one connected direct (same as poe) and another wifi. I've found that a frame rate of 15 fps works fine for the direct connected one. The wifi camera will probably need a slower frame rate.
Then, decrease the bits per second (same screen). Save and apply, exit, come back and make certain things changed. See if this fixes your choppiness issue. If not try slowing the frame rate and bits until things work.
If that fixes the choppiness you can then start debugging your wifi connection - or if its ok, keep it as is.
Hope this helps!
