Yes, I have tried just the IP address instead of the ddns as well to no avail. It's a little disappointing that it is not quite working, but I guess I can always remote monitor from PC instead of iphone. Yup I just altered the port forwarding on my router to no avail. The Amcrest Lite app still cannot connect. Though now it sometimes says "login timeout" instead of "failed to connect".
