Does Amcrest offer a multi hard drive NVR model?
I think that I would get a smoother video playback if I could have camera groups dedicated to a particular hard drive.
for ex..
Cam 1 & 3 record to HDD1
Cam 2 & 4 record to HDD2
Cam 5 & 6 record to HDD3

Re: Does Amcrest Have a Multi Hard Drive Model
5 Series NVR's have the ability to install 2 10tb or maybe it was 2 8tb but it does offer a dual HDD system and in NVRs that is only one I know does more then 1 HDD..

Thank you for the information
Re: Does Amcrest Have a Multi Hard Drive Model
Just a thought, if you've got 6 HD cameras recording simultaneously to the device then you could be at risk of swamping the network node if it's 100Mbps, especially if there is any other device sharing the bandwidth. It's unlikely that is the case but when bottlenecks occur they aren't always where you first imagine. If you are recording continuously then another NVR on a separate node might be worth thinking about.

@longedge Thanks for the comment
I have eight cameras and two NVRs. I just noticed the skipping (about 1 week ago) on NVR_2 (see below).
I don't think(don't think) I noticed the skipping before upgrading to the higher resolution cameras. I have to verify that. So, my novice thinking was maybe it's an issue of at least 2-3 cameras recording at the same time on the same hard drive. My second novice thought was that maybe the higher resolution cameras made it worse. I'm not completely sure. What I'm sure of is that the playback video skipping and/or fast-forwarding is really a problem. Just imagine if there was a situation of a break-in or suspicious behavior and you see the suspect for 1 second and in the next second there is no suspect.
This problem is independent of my network or internet connection. All cameras are connected directly to the NVRs via a cat 5E or cat6 cable.
I wonder if anyone else is currently having this issue. I've been with Amcrest products since the BNC/audio/power cameras. At that time I did not have this issue.

Re: Does Amcrest Have a Multi Hard Drive Model
Just speaking from personal experience, two of my cameras are 2K but I have the resolution in video settings at 1920x1080 and I really can't tell the difference. It's worth considering when making adjustments.

Re: Does Amcrest Have a Multi Hard Drive Model
I'll make that change now and see what the results are.
Re: Does Amcrest Have a Multi Hard Drive Model
Your problem is more likely the speed of your NVR and not the disk. The NV52xx is faster than your NV41xx.
Two considerations:
The max. incoming bandwidth of NV52xx is 320 Mbps. The NV41xx is 80 Mbps.
Secondly, the 52 has a faster processor than the 41. You are probably recording the main stream. Decoding mainstream for Playback is likely your bottleneck. The 52 has faster decoding and can handle more concurrent large stream cameras. You can see some comparisions of the capabilities in the Amazon listings for NV52xx and NV41xx toward the of the bottom of the listings.
Another option to try to correct the problem is to reduce stream size primarily by reducing fps, bitrate, and resolution if desired.

@jack7
checkout Technical Discussion /NVRs/DVRs/Playback Video Skipping.
It has some details of what I changed.
I'm thinking the same thing in terms of processor etc.
But, I would hope that if those limitations are there...that that information should be listed for the product before purchase. Because it sounds as if I wanted to upgrade all my cameras to 4K on my 41xx, I would run into issues like I have now. Where did you get the processor, bitrate etc information? Where can I find that for the NVRs?
By the way, thanks for the information.

Re: Does Amcrest Have a Multi Hard Drive Model
Sadly I think the Issue came after the NVR and the push from people to have updated Look of the NVR has caused some of the issues with Lag and other problems that seems like some people are having problems and chasing the tail..
IF running 2019 or 2020 FW with High MP cameras seems can lag the NVR and cause issues that wouldn't normally be an issue for people that never ran the FW before and might just think that is the way it works..
My guess however if not using HS and still on older FW from 2018 or older then my point is mute...
