When I try to search using playback for one of my cameras I get a small dialog box that says "Channel CAM 6 has ...".
I haven't found anyway to expand the dialog box to see what the error message actually says. The camera is setup in the PC NVR setup.
Anyone know of a way to see the rest of the error message?
Search works just fine for all of my other cameras and I can't find any differences in the way the cameras that work are setup and the way the one that doesn't work is setup. All of the cameras have the same record plan.
Thanks for your help.
Truncated dialog box from PC NVR
Re: Truncated dialog box from PC NVR
I wonder if you have looked in the Logs for the info. I know that you can find log in for both ASP and the devices as well. SO I would guess from what I read to look in the ASP logs for local info and see if that Error is Logged in the ASP file...
If you find it post out what you found.

Re: Truncated dialog box from PC NVR
Nothing in the logs that might explain the problem.
One interesting thing I found is that the 2 new cameras I added to the recording plan today both are recording.
It's one of the old cameras that has stopped recording even though it is still in the NVR setup to record. It now looks like it hasn't been recording for sometime. Now to figure out why.

Re: Truncated dialog box from PC NVR
Well it has been a while since I was able to get ASP to work. So looking at another computer using software same as ASP it might have some things that are called different to may not be the same. Seeing I can't even get PC-NVR to come up in my ASP other then a empty page...
So when you bring PC-NVR you have the ability to make changes for the camera. These changes might be Schedules. In the one that i am looking over it also has the ability to Change what stream it is going to record from...
So for your system with a camera not working. I would check there for the Camera, Then check what stream it is going to record from. It might be that you have it set to Extra (Sub) and maybe you have that turned off in the camera. Also double check that the Recording is setup for full time. If you are recording Motion you will wan tto check the Motion area to make sure that the BOXES are in the area you want to get motion from.
Also I know that on all my DVR's I found the Amcrest one confuses me some times and with the DVR there is an Extra page that I can turn off or on the Recording manually. Well that area also is where one needs to click the box of Schedule start or stop and so on... My other systems you setup a Motion, you click the area in motion setup and it is off and recording on motion.
Maybe copy a setup from a camera that is recording into the camera that isn't recording and see if it starts recording again....
Also maybe take some snap shots of your system setup. Someone might see something that was over looked and help based off what we can see as well....

Also I would look in the HDD management area. There is a section of what to do when full. The options is Overwrite or stop. It might be that you have setup multi HDD areas and the one that is recording for them cameras are setup to Stop when full. I know that I can fill 100gig over night with my 3 cameras I set up at the Highest encoding if there is loads of Traffic that night. If not then it is 75% full.
I am only doing mine for testing
