IP2M-841 V3 Instability

Post by vicw »

I have had 5 IP2M-841 cams running successfully for a long time, but my sixth purchased cam is an IP2M-841 Version 3, which I've had about a month, and I can't get consistent performance from it. The problem is that after about 2-3 days, streamed video drops out, and I usually have to do a forced power reset to restore operation.

I've been trying everything I can think of, even forcing it to reboot itself daily, and 2 different firmware levels, without success. I guess my point is to inquire if I'm alone having problems with this model, or if others have experienced the same kind of issue. I guess the best news would be that someone else has and found a resolution to the problem.

With or with out a Micro SD card installed?

I personally have one with a MSD installed and used it both ways without an issue. Well other then the Constant second click. Outside of that my V3 is working without any going offline issues.

Glad to hear that your V3 cam is working properly, so perhaps I just have a defective unit.

I don't have an MSD installed. I have the same problem streaming via the Wireless or Wired port on the Cam.

What are you referring to regarding "the Constant second click?" I have not idea what that is.

Listening to my Cameras Audio I get a Click on every second changes. So meaning like right now 10.45.40 when it goes to 10.45.41 the audio clicks.

So Yeah I was asking about Micro SD as maybe a bad one was causing the issues.

So here is an idea.
Reset the Camera. When setting up your Cameras make a Password something like Admin+1234. What ever you do don't use the same password you have now. See if using a different password something like I posted above. IF that works for you make note not to use what ever special char you might have used. IF you did anyway..

I say Reset because your saying that there is an issue Wired or Wifi so my guess is there is an issue with password. I have in the past used a ! in my password for some devices and had nothing but issues until the a Reset and password was changed.

Thanks for your feedback and tips. I appreciate them. Actually, I've been through an array of attempts like that within the last month.

Your response that you have not had the problem with your V3 cam convinced me that I probably just got a defective cam. That's the first time I've had a problem like that with Amcrest cams. I returned it to to Amazon today. I swapped in an Exterior Amcrest Cam that I wasn't currently using, and it's working fine.

Sorry wasn't meaning anything outside of mine didn't have any issues outside of the Clicking and offered some things I would do if I had same issue to see if it would cure the issue. Glad to hear your other Amcrest camera is working. It is a newer product and guess could have some bad apples that can happen within new line up of products. Some of the other v3 was removed for a while thought maybe it was production issue or some type of flaw a year later the products are back and in stock so no telling.

Sorry again if I came off the wrong way. Was only trying to say didn't have that type issue..

Happy Holidays
