False triggering with wireless and Blue Iris, looking for setting advice

Post by Hotrod53 »

I gave up on Amcrest triggering setup, I couldn't get it to work correctly no matter how hard I tried so I went to Blue Iris, I'm currently on V4.

It's taken me a long time to get as much Blue Iris understanding as I have so far, but I still get literally 50+ alarm emails every night and at least 25 during the day! My settings are currently min object size 800, minimum contrast 30, minimum duration 3 seconds. I get bugs and rain triggering the cameras constantly! Its a ritual clearing off all false triggers each morning.

I have hotspot zones setup but it doesn't help, one camera in my driveway seems to get triggered by headlights at night that bleed over into my hotspot area, that and bugs. Its nothing for me to see triggers every 3 minutes from a single camera all night long!

My main targets are humans and large animals. I bought these cameras after someone broke into my storage barn in the back yard. Last year someone came in my front driveway and cut off my light wiring on my boat trailer! I don't get it, I don't have enemies but I guess I do have thieves and vandals.

Any setup suggestions would be appreciated. I've been gradually tweaking every day but its not getting much better
